Cloves are the aromatic flower buds of a tree in the family Myrtaceae, Syzygium aromaticum. They are native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia, and are commonly used as a spice. Cloves are available throughout the year owing to different harvest seasons in different countries. Clove is heavy content aroma and hot pungent taste flower bud from tropical trees. It is majorly cultivated in Kerala and Tamil Nadu in India. It contains 14 to 20 percent essential oil, the principal component of which is the aromatic oil Eugenol.

Potent platelet inhibitor, preventing blood clots. It is used as a flavouring agent in many dishes, especially in non-vegetarian dishes and bakery items.
